Hold your student athlete accountable for her/his actions. Open line of communication with players and parents Help in placement/recruiting for your student athlete’s plans after high school. 24/7 – 365 – Do what is right for kids!

ACADEMIC SUCCESS PROGRAM Program Structure Provide an Academic Coordinator (Coach Hawkins) Create and maintain an open line of communication with the academic family Responsible for checking credits at the start and end of the academic year File folder on each student athlete Weekly progress reports (Computer System) Monitor tutorial program Contact parents about academic achievement and shortcomings Set clearly define expectations for all our student athletes Be early, not on time Come to class prepared Sit in the front or middle of the classroom Complete assignments and take examinations when scheduled Communicate with instructors on weekly performance Discipline referrals are not tolerated for any reason Develop relationships with non-athletes Must maintain a 75 average in all academic classes – Mandatory Tutorials

PLAYING MULTIPLE SPORTS We will encourage all athletes that can help our sports to participate. We need them to participate!!!!!! For us to accomplish this; our staff members must be in constant Communication with each other, making sure that the decision making process will keep the purpose of the program in mind. In order to allow our students the opportunity to compete in multiple events we have put a plan of action in place. Priority # 1 – State, Regional, or District Varsity Competition Priority # 2 – Qualifying competitions for the above mentioned events Priority # 3 – Competition in a varsity level hosted event (Texas Relays, Tournaments etc…) School Sports will come first – Club Second

FOOTBALL BOOSTER CLUB Our Purpose: Create a foundation of support that we will build a strong athletic program upon. Why is the Football Booster Club so important? 175 Football players (4 teams) Cost $800-$1,000 per player to suit up The Booster Club takes care of the NEEDS of the program. not the WANTS. Helmets Every player in the program wears the safest helmet on the market. Meals for away games Travel to and from games Shoulder pads Filming Tower

FOOTBALL BOOSTER CLUB What We Do Band 2013 – Set up concessions for Battle of Bands – Profit $1,000 2014 – Reserved cooler room for band water Baseball 2013 – Donated Concession supplies – $1,000 2014 – Donated Concession supplies - $300 Basketball 2014 – Donated Concession supplies for first game 2014 - $750 in team meals Track 2013 – 2014 Set up concessions for all Meets 2013 - 2016 Spent over 10,000 dollars to send athletes to Texas Relays/Regional’s/State. Community 2013 – 2014 Started Pink Out to Support Texas Oncology - $6,6000 2014 – Donated Two – Trauma Kits with Epipen’s – Longview Police *** Every Year we advertise in all booster programs, band, drill team, etc…..

FOOTBALL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Youth Leagues We must put an emphasis on skill development! We as a football program will provide assistance. (Provide Clinics) We need more parents involved. 7 on 7 Program (Total of 7 Teams Playing) We need players involved from the 6 th grade forward We must have volunteers to coach these players We cannot be involved in the coaching or transportation of any of these teams (UIL) We as a football program will provide assistance. ATHLETIC TRAINING INFO Head Athletic Trainer – Jody Berryhill Training Room – opens 45 minutes each day before school and after school practices. All treatments will be done prior to the beginning of all athletic periods unless they are long term rehabilitations. Expectations are that all students will be dressed for athletics prior to receiving treatment, unless they have an academic class following treatment. Students must be dressed appropriately. Injuries – All athletic injuries need to be reported to Head Coach or Athletic Trainers ASAP. Insurance – School provides Secondary Insurance for those with insurance or Primary Insurance if the parent has no Insurance or if the student is covered under Medicaid or CHIPS. Concussion Oversight Team – Pine Tree ISD follows HB 2038 guidelines for having a Concussion Oversight Team. All students with concussions will follow all guidelines set forth by HB 2038 and the agreement. Parents will be notified and a course of action described which will follow all State and District mandates. Electronic Forms – All Athletic Forms may be filled out online through the Pine Tree Athletic Department Website. Click on Rankone Electronic Forms, read the short directions and then select each form to fill out. Be sure to submit each form with both a parent and student signature. You will need your students ID number.

PIRATE CONDITIONING COURSE THIS IS NOT A FOOTBALL PROGRAM – IT IS FOR ALL ATHLETES!!!!!! Absolutely critical to our success as a program Only 3 days a week! Monday/Tuesday/Thursday - June 16 th -July 24 th 8:00-10:00 AM – Incoming 9-12 10:00-NOON – Incoming 6-8, Any 9-12 Not in the AM Held in PTISD facilities Best deal around!!! $50 fee 18 (2hr workouts) = 36 hours of training $50/36 = $1.38 per hour for strength and conditioning Players work together – AS A TEAM!!
