GOAL In this course, we will familiarize with state-of-the-art online publishing techniques and relevant cultural issues. This entails both a technical and theoretical component: hands-on practice with online publishing tools are balanced by a meaningful theoretical reflection on the phenomena discussed. The students will learn to plan, create, setup and manage a website project. Students of MDH will lead the web development of each project. Students of MA CS (and other MA of Arts) will lead the project definition, content curation and communication tasks.

WORK PLAN Introduction to theoretical thinking about cultural web publishing Students make sure they know HTML, CSS and a publishing environment such as Drupal CMS Groups of 4 students including 1 MA MDH student conceive a viable, focused web information project relating to a cultural event our subject A web publication and/or app is developed. Can also be an e-book. A promotional campaign through social media is launched. Each student keeps a personal blog with (self-) reflection. A promotional video about the web project is made. There is a final presentation of the project.
