Types of Lines Intersecting- Two lines that cross each other Perpendicular- Two lines that intersect to form a right angle Parallel- Two lines that will never intersect each other Congruent- two lines that are exactly the same length Adjacent- Two lines/shapes that are across from each other Verticle- two things that are diagnal from each other

Types of Angles Vertical Angles- The angles opposite of each other when two lines Supplementary Angles- Two angles that add up to 180 degrees Complementary Angles- Two angles that add up to 90 degrees

Types of Quaderilaterals Square- A shape with four equal sides and four right angles. Rectangle- A shape with four sides in two different sizes and four right angles. Trapazoid- A shape with one set of verticle lines Rhombus- a shape with all opposite sides are congruent and parallel Parallelogram- a shape with at least one set of parallel lines

Parts of a Circle Radius- Diameter- Circumference -Half of the circle's diameter -The measurement across a circle -The perimeter of a circle

Perimeter and Circumference Perimeter- Add up the length of all the shapes sides. Use this for every shape except circles. Circumference- Pi times diameter. Only use this on circles.

How Geometry is Used in Real Life Architecture because you have to add up the sides and how much the material because if you mess up the whole building will fall

2nd way Art since you need to know the angles of your work and shapes.

3rd way Cooking because you need to cook evenly if you bake something you dont want it to be underdone in the middle (area/ circumfrence)

4th way Measuring because you need to know the size of the shape

5th way Sports because if you throw or hit the ball at a certain angle then the ball will go shorter or farther.

Descartes Rene Descartes was a French mathematician that lived from 1596 to 1650. He was the first mathematician to conect algebra and geometry. A myth is that he was watching a fly on the ceiling when he conceived of locating points on a plane with a pair of numbers. We still use his system of cordinate geometry today.
