2 Jeanette and her friends wanted to go to the beach. The temperature was 80 degrees. They looked in the sky and saw the above. Do you think it would be a good day for them to go the beach? Why or why not? *Yes, it would be a good day to go to the beach. It is warm enough. The cirrus clouds in the sky predict nice weather.

3 If the weather was really stormy, which of the above clouds would you see in the sky? Why did you select that picture? *Picture number one shows storm clouds. They are cumulonimbus clouds. The black heavy clouds bring rain and bad weather. 12 34

4 Teresa is hoping to have a snow day today. She gets up really early and looks at the thermometer. The temperature is 28 degrees. Then she looks at the sky above. Do you think that Teresa will get her snow day? *Teresa will NOT get her snow day. It is cold enough, but there are very few clouds in the sky for snow to come from. The clouds that you can see are cumulus clouds and they bring fair weather.

5 Look at the cloud above. What kind of weather will it bring? What clothes should you wear? Explain your answer. *It is a cumulonimbus cloud and it will bring stormy weather with probably a lot of rain. The darker the cloud the more water that is in it. You should wear a raincoat over your clothes and boots.

6 Look at the cloud above. What kind of clouds do you think they are? What kind of weather will they bring? What kinds of outside activities can you do during this weather? *They are cumulus clouds. They bring nice weather. You could have a picnic, play baseball, swim, play tennis, or go to the playground.

7 Look at the cloud above. What kind of cloud do you think it is? What kind of weather will it bring? *These are stratus clouds. They are low and gray. They can bring light snow, or rain. They usually move through fast, though.

8 Look at the cloud above. What kind of cloud do you think it is? What kind of weather will it bring? Should you stay inside? Explain your answer. *These are cirrus clouds, high in the sky. They predict nice weather, so you should go outside and play.
