Recycling – is this the answer, and is it working? How to help ….

Understanding the task What evidence needs to be produced? What information must it contain? What information moves the work to a higher level? Evidence you must produce for this task A poster display to engage the local neighbourhood and make them aware of the different methods that can be used to reduce their impact on the local environment. A discussion (on the poster) of the advantages and disadvantages of some of the techniques used and suggestions of ways in which they can be improved and other techniques that could be used. a)Describe how the following methods can help to reduce pollution: recycling and reusing breeding programmes using renewable resources – e.g. wind, solar using organic fertilisers and biological control of pests. For each of these methods you should say how they can be used and how they reduce the effects of human impact and benefit the ecosystem where they are used. a)For each of the methods above discuss at least two advantages and two disadvantages.- merit b)Choose an example of where some of these methods have been used and provide evidence to suggest whether they have been successful in counteracting pollution or not. Suggest ways that these methods could be improved further, or if there are other techniques that could be used.- distinction

Researching the right information a)Describe how the following methods can help to reduce pollution: recycling and reusing breeding programmes using renewable resources – e.g. wind, solar using organic fertilisers and biological control of pests. For each of these methods you should say how they can be used and how they reduce the effects of human impact and benefit the ecosystem where they are used. If using a search engine add GCSE to search terms to keep information at the right level

Researching the right information Keep a record of the sources used- copy and paste web address- http://recycling-guide.org.uk/facts.html

Organising the work plan how the poster will look- this will help break down the work into smaller manageable sections Title…. Recycling and reusing Breeding programmes Renewable resources Reducing fertilizers and pesticides Plan when each section will be completed by
6
Reviewing the work CHECK BACK TO THE SUCCESS CRITERIA- ADD SECTIONS FOR DISTINCTION AND MERIT Title…. Recycling and reusing Breeding programmes Renewable resources Reducing fertilizers and pesticides ADVANTAGES- DISADVANTAGES ADVANTAGES- DISADVANTAGES ADVANTAGES- DISADVANTAGES ADVANTAGES- DISADVANTAGES MERIT DOES IT WORK? HOW COULD IT BE IMPROVED?

HOW BIG? HOW MUCH? AS A POSTER IT NEEDS TO BE LARGE ENOUGH FOR PEOPLE TO READ- ON THIS PLAN IT COULD BE 5 PIECES OF A4- HOWEVER THIS IS JUST 1 WAY OF ORGANISING IT AND THE POSTER DESIGN IS ENTIRELY YOURS
