6 I. Right View (Sammādi ṭṭ hi) 1) Knowledge about Ill (dukkha), 2) …the cause of Ill (dukkha-samudaya), 3) …the cessation of Ill (dukkha-nirodha), 4) …the Way that leads to the cessation of Ill (dukkha-nirodha-gāminī pa ṭ ipadā)

7 II. Right Aspiration (Sammāsa ṅ kappa) 1) The aspiration towards renunciation (nekkhamma-sa ṅ kappa), 2) the aspiration towards benevolence (abyāpāda-sa ṅ kappa), 3) the aspiration towards kindness (avihi ṁ sā-sa ṅ kappa)

8 III. Right Speech (Sammāvācā) 1) Abstaining from lying (musāvāda), 2) … slander (pisu ṇ āvācā), 3) … abuse (pharusavācā) 4) … idle talk (samphappalāpa).

9 IV. Right Doing (Sammākammanta) 1) Abstaining from taking life (pā ṇ ātipāta), 2) … taking what is not given (adinnādāna), 3) … carnal indulgence (kāmesumicchācāra).

10 V. Right Livelihood (Sammā-ājīva) Having put away wrong livelihood Supports himself by right livelihood.

11 VI. Right Effort (Sammāvāyāma) 1) Prevent the evil that have not arisen… 2) Abandon the evil that have arisen… 3) Develop the good states which have not arisen… 4) Maintain the good states which have arisen may persist…
