1 New Hampshire Integrated Emergency Volunteer Training Conferences 2011 Previous Year MRCs only—expanded to other partners in 2011 Provide variety of training to units based on NH core competencies Build esprit de corps statewide among emergency response volunteers

2 Partners and Planning Invited: – Medical Reserve Corps – American Red Cross – Citizen Emergency Response Teams (CERT) – Disaster Animal Response Team (DART) – Metropolitan Medical Response Team (MMRS) – Disaster Behavioral Response Team (DBHRT) MRC, ARC, and CERT Representative key planners Community Health Institute—staff support (key!)

3 Courses CPR adult and infant Traffic control Interagency collaboration Disaster assessment Pets in disasters Disaster Frontline Supervisor Recruiting and Sustaining Volunteers Psychological First Aid Family Preparedness: Train the Trainer Functional Needs support in shelters Standard Precautions How HIPAA applies Using Exercises to improve Preparedness

4 Funding Hospital Preparedness Program (staff) MRC State Coordinators NACCHO competitive grant Emergency Management Performance Grant (FEMA-through states) About $22,500 for 2 different times/areas of state for main training conference And one leadership training day…..

5 Leadership Training Day(MRCs) Need: Young MRCs need more depth in leadership and support for unit directors All MRC could nominate 3 persons: coordinators and/or leaders/emerging leaders Focus on: – Volunteer management – Organizational management/strategic planning – Social Marketing – Risk management
