The reporting server is installed on a different computer than the System Center Essentials management server. A System Center Essentials console can be installed as a stand-alone component on a computer other than the System Center Essentials management server. Up to five remote Essentials consoles can be used at a time. Any System Center Essentials 2010 component can be installed on a domain controller. System Center Essentials 2010 can manage computers or network devices that are in a different domain from the System Center Essentials management server, as long as the domains are in the same Active Directory forest.
