16
Understanding Double Counted Modules
17
Waiver of Pre-requisites ▷ There is no waiver of pre-requisites for core modules in Economics. ▷ Can only do level 3000 electives on exchange.
18
Synergy of Modules ▷ There are modules that have great synergy with engineering modules ▷ Econometric modules EC3303, EC3304 are on regression and statistics ▷ Relevant to Engineering modules
19
4. Student Exchange Program An unique experience
20
Stockholm, Sweden Royal Institute of Technology (KTH)
21
Some Tips on Exchange ▷ High risk, high returns ▷ Map modules early (You will be the only DDP student there) ▷ Try to map double counted modules, subjected to both departments approval ▷ Do leave some General Education modules to map
22
5. Challenges
23
Integrated Honours Project ▷ Trying to combine Final Year Project (FYP) and Economic Thesis (EC4401) ▷ Difficult to find a topic that fulfils both requirements and find 2 separate professors willing to supervise ▷ Tip: Start Early and self-propose
24
Counting MCs and Fulfilling Requirement ▷ Near the end, the task of counting MCs becomes daunting ▷ Find your DDP coordinators from both Engineering (Ms. Lesley Poong) and Economics (Ms. Ginny Pak)
25
6. General Tips
26
Non-Academic Life ▷ Tertiary education is not just about studies ▷ Secure proper internships (during summer holidays) ▷ Participate actively in CCAs
