Canada is located to the north of United States, among the Oceans Atlantic and Pacific. Canada is the second bigger country of the world, and has as capital the city of Ottawa. Great part of its surface is water and the country is full of forests.

The first residents of the region were peoples that came of Siberia, which arrived through the Strait of Bering, and the Inuit peoples that came of Asia. The first Europeans that arrived in Canada were the Vikings, but they didn’t stay because the natives that resided in this region were very aggressive.

However, the Englishmen and French didn’t get scared of the natives and they continued exploring the wealth of this region, forming colonies. In sixteen ninety France and England faced between them through a problem of limits, in which Englishmen won. In nineteen twenty six England recognized the Independence of Canada.

Canada has 10 counties and three territories. It is a constitutional monarchy and a federal state with a democratic parliament. The official languages of Canada are English and French. Canada has a population of approximately 31 million inhabitants, of many different cultures.

Canada is a very cold country. The winters can be very hard in many regions of the country, with risks of tempests of snow, storms of ice and temperatures below the fifty centigrade degree in the distant north.

But not the whole country is cold. Eighty percent of the Canadian lives to two thousands kilometers of United Estates along the frontier, where is located the climes more template of the country.

The forests are located by all the country. In the North of Canada are the "Rocky Mountains", an important mountain range. In the Southwest is the Canadians prairies, where is practiced the agriculture. In the Southeast is located the Big Lakes, that feed the river San Lorenzo, one of the most important from Canada.

The fauna is very varied. It’s possible to find bears, wolves, coyotes, American lions and pumas among other carnivorous animals. In the arctic regions there are polar bears. In some areas can be seen beavers and numerous rodents. In the plane regions there are moles. Some areas of Canada are also the habitat of antelopes, reindeers and elks.

The Free Trade Agreement between Canada and the USA of nineteen eighty nine and the North American Free Trade Agreement that includes to USA, Mexico and Canada of nineteen ninety four has generated a great increment in the commerce and the economic integration of Canada with the USA.

The literature in French until half of the XX century spoke of the religion and the history of Canada. But of there from now on was centered more in the social problems, and it became more realist and introspective.

Canada has successful singers at international level as Avril Lavigne, Bryan Adams, Shania Twain, Nelly Furtado, Lara Fabian and Alanis Morissette among others. As for folkloric music, we notice three influences very strong: Celtic, French and indigenous music. Among the best groups of this music type is Great Big Sea.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is a police force of federal character that is a symbol of the Canadian culture. Many remembrances related with the Mounted Police are produced for the tourists.

Another product typical Canadian is the smoky salmon, because this is consumed in every country, contrary to other plates or foods like the aforementioned poutine and the buffalo meat.

The Hockey on ice is the national sport and almost all the children practice it at some time. The Canadians enjoy all type of skating on ice. In the summers, they are practiced all type of aquatic activities as ski or diving.

The festivals of summer continue inclusive in September. One of the most spectacular is the festival of hot-air globes in Québec. In Toronto you will find of everything: Bars, Discos, Concerts, and Theater, parties of Hockey, Basketball and Baseball professionals. No far are located the waterfalls of the Niagara and the casinos of Ontario.
