©2011 Long Island Chapter of the Project Management Institute ALL RIGHTS RESERVED PMP Exam Study Group PMP Prep Course – PMBOK 4th Edition – Version 4.0 14 PMP Examination Content: The Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification Examination measures the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques utilized in the practice of project management Examination specifications were established in 1997 after the Project Management Institute completed a job analysis study The examination is computer-based and is comprised of 200 total questions: - 175 scored multiple-choice questions developed and validated by PMPs - 25 unscored pre-test questions Examinees must obtain a score of 61% (106/ 175) in order to pass the examination The allotted time to complete the examination is four (4) hours The examination is offered exclusively through Prometric, a leading worldwide provider of comprehensive technology-based testing and assessment services

Therefore, no single source for the examination exists. The foundation document for project management training and/or education is A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK Guide). The PMBOK is available from PMI -- http://www.pmi.org/PMBOK- Guide-and-Standards/Standards-Library-of-PMI-Global- Standards.aspx PMI also offers an array of textbooks and other project management reference materials.
