L ETTER OF T RANSMITTAL (B UY AND USE A STYLE GUIDE ) Use a style guide to assist with format Address to person requesting the report Cite the authorization to do the study Explain what is in the report Thank all who contributed to the preparation of report

E XECUTIVE S UMMARY Use a style guide or go to library reserve book room and check out a business communications text. The texts have a sample report in the appendix Provide a recap of entire report on one page. Be sure to provide context, methods, analysis, alternatives and recommendation.

B ODY Use a Style Guide or go to reserve book room for a business communication text. Set the context for the study (usually one page) Define the problem (2 -3 sentences) Provide an analysis of factors contributing to problem (Use text to support your model) Provide alternatives (usually three – Use text to provide support) Make recommendation (Use text to provide support) Support analysis tools, alternatives and recommendation with citations to text (APA or MLA citation format acceptable. Be consistent – You need at least ten to get full credit for this aspect of your report).

That does not mean that standards will not be high
