Curriculum-based college admissions test Accepted in all four-year colleges & universities in the U.S. Helps begin the college planning & career exploration process Multiple-choice tests in English, mathematics, reading, and science Writing test on a prompt that defines an issue and presents 2 opposing points of view Many colleges use ACT results to place incoming students into first-year courses Can cost up to $80 for students to take CMS allows all juniors to take ACT at their home schools for FREE

All first-time 11 th grade students We must have 95%, and we have only 2 days to achieve that goal.

Initial Test Day: Tuesday, March 4, 2014 Testing must begin as soon after 7:15 a.m. as possible. Everyone will be in homeroom. More details to come. The lunch schedule will be altered. Release by security. Makeup Test Day: Tuesday, March 18, 2014 We will be on regular schedule. No bells will ring.

Coaches may not serve as room supervisors for one-on-one testing of a student- athlete Students cannot be tested by a relative or guardian who serves as a Room Supervisor or Proctor Testing Staff: Test Supervisor: Ms. Raynor Back-Up Test Supervisor: Mrs. Mathis Room Supervisor = Test Administrator Proctor Roving Proctor = Hallway Monitor

Assist with check-in and directing students to test rooms Monitor hallways; keep quiet during testing and breaks Escort students to classrooms and restrooms Provide coverage for Room Supervisors (Test Administrators) or Proctors if a break is needed Do not allow any visitors into the test rooms. Notify Ms. Raynor of this issue in case of ACT visits.

MARCH 4 TH TEST DAY MORNING CHECK-OUT Briefing Session for Room Supervisors Only Media Center 6:30 a.m.—6:55 a.m. Report to locations by 7:00 a.m. to prepare room Be prepared to Count & Complete Item A on Test Booklet Count Form (A-3 in back of manual)

MARCH 4 TH TEST DAY Proctors, report to locations by 7:00 a.m. to help ID students and escort them to seats Hallway monitors, report to locations by 7:00 a.m. Have a copy of ACT Site Plan in hand Get walkie-talkie

MARCTH 4 TH TEST DAY Test 1 = 45 minutes Test 2 = 60 minutes Break = 15 minutes (monitor materials & stay in room) Test 3 = 35 minutes Test 4 = 35 minutes Break = 5 minutes (collect test materials & stay in room) Writing Test = 30 minutes

MARCH 4 TH TEST DAY Contact the hall monitor for any issues. The hall monitor will find Ms. Raynor or Mrs. Mathis. Irregularities will be reported using page A-6 in the manual. Suspected behavior: Warning Observed behavior: Dismissal Students dismissed for prohibited behaviors will not be rescheduled for makeup testing. They will not help us get 95% attendance, so be diligent in warning students about the rules.
