1. Anxiety- the condition of feeling uneasy or worried about what may happen 2. Warning signs: sad/irritable, loss of interest, change of appetite, difficulties sleeping, loss of energy, feeling worthless or guilt, thoughts of death or suicide 3. Types: Minor, Major, and Adjustment disorder 4. Causes: physical, psychological, social, medical condition, illness, traumatic event

Mental Disorders They are MEDICAL conditions that require diagnosis and TREATMENT.

Anxiety Disorders As many as 13% of people between 9 and 17 experience it each year. Phobias, Obsessive-Compulsive, Panic Disorder, PTSD, GAD Impulse Control Disorders Kleptomania, Cutting, Gambling, Compulsive Shopping.

Eating Disorders Anorexia Nervosa Bulimia Nervosa Overeating Mood Disorders Depression Bipolar Disorder Manic-Depressive Disorder

Conduct Disorder * Show patterns of behavior in which the rights of others or basic social rules are violated. * Lying, Aggression, Stealing, Arson, Vandalism… Schizophrenia A person loses contact with reality. 1% of the population Personality Disorders * People are unable to regulate their emotions. There is no known cause.
