4 I. NPCC Profile

5 1. NPCC Background o Became the APO member in 2004 o Established in 2004 as NPU under the Industrial General Department o In 2004 NPCC was promoted to NPCC which is under the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy o Total staff: 29 people o 5 offices

7 3. Objectives o The primary objective of NPCC is to improve productivity in order to achieve sustainable long-run economic growth in Cambodia, which is open to the rest of the world and vulnerable to external shocks. o Competitiveness, innovation and entrepreneurship are keys to sustainability in a liberalized economy. NPCC plays such important roles as think tank, catalyst, national adviser, consultant, institution builder and provider of information on productivity and quality.

Mission Generate productivity consciousness and act as a catalyst and agent of change to enhance productivity in Cambodia; to measure and improve productivity, and encourage innovativeness in order to achieve a competitive edge and to support the government rectangular strategy. 9 5. Vision NPCC’s vision of success is to be fully responsive to the ideals and requirements of its customers, and to be recognized for leadership and partnership in helping to build knowledge-based economy in order to improve well-being of the people.

Role and responsibilities o Enhance and promote productivity movement o Organize productivity promotion programs o Coordinate and provide consultancy and training services o Coordinate with private sector to enhance and promote productivity o Communicate with Asian Productivity Organization (APO) and other NPOs o Research and disseminate productivity information.

14 Training material o More than 2000 participants gained productivity awareness, both in private & government sector. o Textbooks and Manual on 5S and Kaizen were developed and also revised.

20 Staffs Competencies o Total number of NPCC members is 29 (1 director, 3 deputy directors and employees) those have different back ground. o About the core competencies, there are 6 Lead consultants, and more than 10 capable to be consultants (under training).
