Thechildrentheyouth, the adults The children, the youth, the adults… People like You. People like You. Could you be the next victim of a crime? Could you be the next victim of a crime?
3
Crime In ordinary language, the term Crime denotes an unlawful act punishable by a state; assault, robbery, fraud, murder, prostitution, vandalism and others. The causes of crime are complex. The possible solutions are elusive. How can crime be reduced? What can be done to live in a safe environment?
5
ProactiveReactive. Crime prevention is Proactive, rather than Reactive. Proactive: Policing attempts to prevent the crime from occurring in the first place. Reactive: Policing responds to crime after it has occurred. Establishing public safety is among local government’s fundamental obligations to its citizens. The safety of persons and the security of their properties, are widely viewed as basic human rights and are essential to the community’s overall quality of life. When the citizenry is not, and does not feel, reasonably safe, other critical local government functions such as economic development, government finance, public education, stable housing, and basic local government services, become that much more difficult to provide. In short, a community’s reputation for public safety heavily influences its appeal as a place to raise a family, open a business or simply to be happy and free. Personal safety Robbery prevention School safety Workplace safety Auto theft prevention Crime prevention is the anticipation, recognition and appraisal of a crime risk and the initiation of some action to remove or reduce it. For example:
8
- Take an active role in children's school. - Work with other parents to develop standards for school-related events. - Support school policies and rules that help create and sustain safety.
9
Schools: Students - Start a school crime watch. - Refuse to bring weapons to school. - Report any crime or suspicious behavior immediately. Schools: Teachers - Invite parents to talk about their children. - Learn how to recognize warning signs that a child may be headed for violence. - Encourage and sponsor student-led antiviolence activities.
10
Identity Theft: - Do not give out personal information over the phone. - Be careful when using ATM or ATH and phone cards and pay attention to the billing cycles. - Do not carry Social Security card, birth certificate, or passport, unless absolutely necessary. Cyber Safety: - Never give out the name and personal information to others online. - Do not send personal information over the Internet, by email, or over cellular phones. - Avoid break-ins by changing your password regularly and memorizing it.

Are his principles of policing still applicable today?Absolutely! “Police at all time should maintain a relationship with the public, that gives reality to the historic tradition; the police are public and the public are the police. The police being only full-time individuals charged with the duties that are incumbent on all of the citizens.”
12
My goal is provide community leaders, private sector partners, schools organizations and all the people, information on crime prevention that will enable them to create safer, more secure, more vibrant personal life ; and, support them to live in a community free of criminal violence.
13
On the other hand, I w ant to promote and enhance safe communities and neighborhoods programs. Also, It’s my goal to work with residents on crime prevention efforts and improve interaction and communication from the Police department. By working together we can do a better job of preventing crimes of opportunity and apprehending criminals.
14
911 911 A strong community bond is our most effective tool in accomplishing my goals. 40% of our burglaries are committed by the suspect entering through an unlocked door or window. In most vehicle break-ins, the suspect is after a visible item(s) of value. I encourage residents to report suspicious activity immediately by calling 911. A police officer patrolling your neighborhood may not recognize a stranger in your yard, but your neighbor will. We’ve had good success at catching burglars in the act when residents call 911 immediately to report suspicious activity.
15
Please… Remember this: Please… Remember this: “One of the single most important ways to reduce crime in your neighborhood, is to know your neighbors and watch out for each other.”

Like a writer, I always try to fix my writes in the modern life; thinking about the issues and picking the side I wish to advocate. In order to write an effective persuasive speech, I tried to understand the reader’s perspective. The main objective was to build up a solid argument, because nothing persuades the audience better than a well-sounded argument supported by credible and reliable sources; ; and I think I did it. CRIME PREVENTION. I'm sure that together we are going to stop the crime, with the… CRIME PREVENTION. 19
