7 NC Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus Founded in 1976 Network of destination marketing organizations working cooperatively Used to promote NC as a convention and leisure destination First seven member cities were Asheville, Charlotte, Greensboro, Hickory, High Point, Raleigh, and Winston-Salem

8 NC Division of Tourism, Film, and Sports Development Established in 1937 as the Division of State Advertising Encourages development of all aspects of tourism Encourages economic development through promotion of events involving amateur, collegiate, and professional sports organizations Encourages recruitment of Hollywood studios to film in NC locations Works to attract independent filmmakers and production companies Promotes NC filmmaking outside the US Attracts Hollywood professionals to work on NC films and grow the state’s already considerable product infrastructure
