1.Prepare students going on to attend a US high school –Improve English language through language immersion and courses and vocabulary building –Average 10% improvement on the ELTIS test (new replacement for the SLEP test) –Educate students on family and school life in the United States –Bring students out of comfort zone and get them interacting with teachers and other students 2.Provide the opportunity for students to see famous US attractions –Students learn about US culture and history through visits to places like Stanford University, UC Berkeley (ranked 4 th and 20 th in the nation, respectively), Fisherman’s Warf, the Golden Gate Bridge, the San Francisco Art museum and a Giant’s baseball game –Feeling of satisfaction after seeing both tourist destinations and the family experience of their High School Program Program Purpose

Students stay from 2-4 weeks in campus dormitories –Double and single rooms New exciting location at port of entry: Santa Clara University, San Francisco Bay Area(airport SFO) 12 hours of language and culture courses per week, additional evening group projects and vocabulary building 3-4 off-campus group activities per week Beautiful facilities to enjoy on campus Talented and experienced teachers and chaperones for 24-hour support Interaction with other students from around the world ACE Overview

Each 2-week session will have an average of 3 full-day off campus activities, and 4 half-day off campus activities. Students will visit the top attractions of San Francisco, the bay area, prestigious universities such as Stanford and UC Berkeley, as well as local attractions. Other time on campus will be spent for sports games, group and independent studies, group projects and other activities. Students will have the opportunity to constantly build language skills as well as independence and friendships. * Calendar below is a sample 2-week itinerary. Daily/weekly activities will vary, and are subject to change due to weather and other circumstances.

ACE students must be placed in a host family prior to the start of ACE, guaranteeing early placement! Students will arrive adjusted to being in the US and out of their comfort zone They will show familiarity with American culture and history and improved English skills They will feel satisfied that they were able to see many famous US attractions before heading off to other parts of the country They will have friendships and memories that will last a lifetime
