Strong positive impact on young people’s development of life skills and core values. Program is unique especially in the synergy among golf, the program delivery by coaches, the life skills curriculum and The First Tee Nine Core Values. The First Tee affirms values that are taught at home.

Impact – 2003-06 Research Impact – 2003-06 Research Life Skills Transfer: Youth in The First Tee scored higher than the comparison group on meeting and greeting, managing emotions, resolving conflicts, appreciating diversity, and getting help from others. General Life Skills Usage: Youth in The First Tee scored higher than the comparison group on goal setting, initiative, emotional regulation, prosocial norms, and positive relationships.

Impact – 2003-06 Research Impact – 2003-06 Research Developmental Outcomes: Youth in The First Tee scored higher than the comparison group on perceived academic competence (confidence), moral conduct (responsibility, honesty, integrity), self- efficacy to resist peer pressure (judgment), and preference for challenging skills (perseverance).

Programs and Services Programs and Services Over 1800 students in certified levels of Life Skills instruction in three sessions throughout the year Another 4500 students exposed in 2009 through TARGET programs offered in summer camps, schools, after-school programs and community centers Many TARGET program participants enroll in Life Skills Experience.
