“When it comes to the origin of life on this earth, there are only two possibilities: Creation or Spontaneous Generation (evolution). There is no third way. Spontaneous Generation was disproved 100 years ago, but that leads us only to one other conclusion: that of supernatural creation. We cannot accept that on philosophical grounds; therefore, we choose to believe the impossible: that life arose spontaneously by chance.” Dr. George Wald, winner of the 1967 Nobel Peace Prize in Science.

“I WANT TO KNOW HOW GOD CREATED THIS WORLD. I AM NOT INTERESTED IN THIS OR THAT PHENOMENON, IN THE SPECTRUM OF THIS OR THAT ELEMENT. I WANT TO KNOW HIS THOUGHTS; THE REST ARE DETAILS.” Albert Einstein

Worldview A framework from which we view reality and make sense of life and the world. Your personal worldview is the sum of all you believe to be true, and these beliefs bcome the driving force behind every emotion, decision and action. It therefore affects how we walk through life.

"they (Worldviews) are like an invisible pair of eyeglasses-glasses you put on to help you see reality clearly. If you choose the right pair of glasses, you can see everything vividly and can behave in sync with the real world.... But if you choose the wrong pair of glasses, you may find yourself in a worse plight than the blind man - thinking you see clearly when in reality your vision is severely distorted." To choose the "right" glasses, you have to first understand and embrace the true worldview. Jeff Baldwin – Worldview Academy

Belief: World Definition Something one accepts as true or real. A belief is something that results from inferences drawn from our perception of reality, not necessarily reality itself. – Belief different than an opinion based on the level of conviction

Belief: Biblical Definition Greek - pisteu ō - put one's faith in, trust, with an implication that actions based on that trust may follow Our beliefs reside in our hearts (deeply rooted)

8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Romans 10:8-10 (ESV) 11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12 The ones along the path are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13 And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe for a while, and in time of testing fall away. Luke 8:11-13 (ESV)

Antony Flew English Philosopher and a former distinguished advocate of Atheism. Wrote the book “There Is a God”(2008), to document how his commitment to "follow the argument wherever it leads" led him to a belief in God as Creator.

“I now believe that the universe was brought into existence by an infinite Intelligence. I believe that this universe's intricate laws manifest what scientists have called the Mind of God. I believe that life and reproduction originate in a divine Source. Why do I believe this, given that I expounded and defended atheism for more than a half century? The short answer is this: this is the world picture, as I see it, that has emerged from modern science.” Antony Flew

Questions about a Creator 1.What is God like? 2.Given we know the origin of the universe (God) what is the nature of it? 3.Given we know the origin of mankind, what is the nature of mankind? 4.What happens to us after death? 5.Where does knowledge come from? 6.Is there absolute truth and can it be discovered? 7.What is the basis of ethics and morality?

11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. Ecclesiastes 3:11 (ESV)

Religion Worldviews

Barna Group Survey 2009 1.Do absolute moral truths exist? 2.Is absolute truth defined by the Bible? 3.Did Jesus Christ live a sinless life? 4.Is God the all-powerful and all-knowing Creator of the universe, and does He still rule it today? 5.Is salvation a gift from God that cannot be earned? 6.Is Satan real? 7.Does a Christian have a responsibility to share his or her faith in Christ with other people? 8.Is the Bible accurate in all of its teachings?

Only 9% of all American adults have a biblical worldview. Of Born-Again-Christians, only 19% have a complete biblical worldview Survey Results

The Source of Counter fit Truth In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 2 Corinthians 4:4 (ESV) You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. John 8:44 (ESV)

3 But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:3 (ESV) – Led Astray (Greek: phtheir ō ) To Corrupt or Destroy

Apostasy Apostasy (Greek: apostasia) – falling away, defection from truth Bible warns of Apostasy in 26 of 27 of NT 1.Counter fit Truth 2.False Teachers

8 See to it that no one takes you captive (carry you away from truth) through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. Colossians 2:8 (NASB) But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. 2 Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned (blasphemed, slandered); 3 and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep. 2 Peter 2:1-3 (NASB)

Contending for Truth 3 Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. 4 For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. Jude 3-4 (ESV)

A.W Tozer “So skilled is error imitating truth, that the two are constantly being mistaken for each another. It takes a sharp eye these days to know which brother is Cain and which is Abel.”

Jesus on Truth John 14:6 (ESV) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 16:13 (ESV) 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. John 17:17-19 (ESV) 17 Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.

Now What 6 Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, 7 rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. Colossians 2:6-7 (ESV)
