2 RTTT Performance Pay 2010-2011 Teacher Performance Pay Plan Performance Pay Joint Committee $14 million 4 “Avenues” Awards ranged from $500 to $25,000 83% of instructional staff recognized Valid teaching certificate “Good Year” at same location Full-Time including itinerants Position must be assigned to a school-site

3 Avenues A & B School-wide Awards (A1) – the school remains an “A” school or improves in FCAT letter grade, or (A2) – the school remains a “B” or “C” school but improves in overall FCAT points, or (A3) – the school remains a “D” school but improves in proficiency points, or (A4) – the school remains a “D” school but improves in the percentage of subgroups meeting AYP, or (A5) – the school improves in median SAT-10 percentile. Content Area within School (B1) – the school improves in Mathematics proficiency, gains, or lowest 25 percent, or (B2) – the school improves in Reading proficiency, gains, or lowest 25 percent.

4 Avenues C & D Individual Teachers within School (C1) – the percent of the teacher’s students making learning gains meets or exceeds 90 percent. Superintendent’s Progressive Teacher Awards (D1) – they are among the ten teachers in each region, in reading and math separately, with the highest consistent student gains over 3 years. Payment for Rankings – Rank 1 = $25,000 – Rank 2 = $12,000 – Rank 3 = $8,000 – Ranks 4-10 = $4,000

5 School-site Administrator Pay Plan $400,000 50% school-wide performance 50% improvement in overall points – ’10-’11 Regional/Grouping – Elementary School/K-8 Center – Middle School – Senior High School Payment for Rankings Rank 1 = $25,000 Rank 2 = $12,000 Rank 3 = $8,000 Rank 4 = $4,000 All assistant principals - $1,000

6 Moving ahead in 2011-2012 Maintain “Avenues” structure Share estimate $500 (subject to renegotiation) Significant broadening of data points – AP/IB/AICE – VAM (state and district developed) – SAT – EOC Individual Teacher Recognition (Ave C) Doubled Restructured Superintendent’s Progressive Teacher Awards Future planning – move towards Avenue D structure as 2014 approaches. http://racetothetop.dadeschools.net
