Lesson 4 T3 FSAs Are Managers FSAs are managers when they have a goal to achieve. are in charge of a task. juggle several tasks or activities. get satisfaction from their jobs. are responsible for directing a task or job. carry on in spite of circumstances. That makes me a Manager!

Lesson 4 T4 Manage Yourself and Your Job You will learn at least four benefits of organizing yourself and your workday. You will identify at least two goals for increasing your skills and improving work practices. What you will learn in this lesson

Lesson 4 T5 Getting Organized Steps to follow 1.Set objectives –Why do I want to get organized and manage myself and my job? 2.Plan –What are the tasks I must do each day at home and school? When should they be done? 3.Prioritize –In what order should the tasks be done? How much time will each take? 4.Budget time –When should I start and finish each task? 5.Evaluate –How will I know if the plan works?

Lesson 4 T6 Getting ready for work Example: Allow plenty of time to dress, eat breakfast, and get to work on time. Getting ready for the day Example: Review the production schedule and the cleaning schedule. Getting ready for the task Example: Assemble all supplies and equipment needed for the task, whether cleaning or cooking (mise en place). Getting ready for tomorrow Example: Review the work schedule and assignments for the next day.

Lesson 4 T8 FSAs manage themselves and their jobs. Organization is the first step to effective management. Self-starters know how and when to do their jobs. They go forward and do the job. Empowerment is expressed when the FSA “goes the second mile” in serving students. FSAs need a professional development plan to reach their goals. FSAs must continue learning and developing skills to keep up with change. What You Learned in This Lesson

Lesson 4 T9 Where To From Here? Where do you go from here? The future of the SNP is in your hands. You can help make the vision of “healthy children, ready to learn” a reality. During Alice’s tour of Wonderland she came upon the Cheshire Cat sitting a few feet away.
