Why should schools plan for emergencies?  Actions taken are worthwhile.  Benefits extend to home and community.  Response to emergencies is improved.  Parents/communities are more confident.  Planning prevents injuries and saves lives.  Schools are responsible for ensuring safety.  State laws require planning.
