Today it is one of Australia’s largest suppliers of communications, gas monitoring, I.S. lighting and conveyor control equipment to Australian coal mines and general industry. With over 25 fully installed mine wide gas monitoring systems. Over 1000 conveyor monitoring and control systems both in Australia and worldwide. Over 70 longwall monitoring and control systems in Australia and overseas. Additionally Austdac now forms part of the Hubbell Industrial Technology segment and will continue to trade as Austdac Pty Ltd. The Industrial Technology segment also contains the GAI-Tronics group which specializes in equipment for electrical and electronic Harsh and Hazardous areas including industrial phones, oil and gas, coal and other mining areas. 6 After 30 years of the current ST1 barrier system, Austdac has designed a new modern barrier The ST2 barrier is more compact only requiring a 6 RU high shelf kit assembly and only 35mm wide Uses the latest digital technology in speech and gain control, software controlled The ST2 barrier comprise of two single telephones circuits in the one housing similar to the ST1 type but smaller in volume LED indication of the front panel show that the barrier is operational, detection of an Emergency Call, and Line Status, connection of a phone Hot swappable while fully powered PCB backplane for greater reliability In the event of a complete power failure there is a Emergency phone connection of front panel IS telephone system

13 PC based graphical user interface (GUI) The software will work on any windows XP or Windows 7 personal computer The GUI can display over 30 lines on one page The BMA exchange is designed to detect the Call Exchange tone sent from the BMA station to the surface via the surface pair BMA Exchange

14 Once the call exchange tone has been detected the operator telephone or desk top station will ring The operator answers the call by lifting the handset To clear the call return the handset to the cradle BMA Exchange
