Copy a line from the story. _____________________ _____________________ _____________________ ___ This connection is: _____ Text to Self _____ Text to Text __ ✔ __ Text to World I rank this book The Titanic passengers to travel to America on the “unsinkable” Titanic the captain and officers were not concerned about ice they ignored warnings about icebergs in the area unfortunately collided with an iceberg causing it to sink. Exploring the Titanic Captain Robert BallardNon-fiction Jack Thayer extremely scared his only choice of survival was to jump into the freezing cold ocean water.. a movie I saw called Destiny where each of the characters had clues that they were going to die, but they ignored them all. In “Exploring the Titanic”, the passengers and crew ignored all the warning signs that should have concerned them. April 15, 1912, was a life changing day for me. I was certain that I was going to die. I was onboard the Titanic with my parents and was separated from them. When I jumped in, I was shocked by the cold and could hardly move. “Water was pouring into the first five compartments.” The significance of this line is that the reader already knows that the ship will only stay afloat if three or four compartments fill. This line shows that the sinking is inevitable.
