Aim To develop a clear understanding of effective planning in RERC at: - Whole school level - Class Level (Year) - Class level (Thematic) To think about the best way to take planning forward across the Archdiocese

Quadrilateral Planning Class – Core learning, Needs/talents/interests of pupils School – Link into season and respond to needs of pupils Home – Experience of family & life out of school Parish – Partnership, Liturgical seasons and needs of Parish

The Process Look at whole year planner – not all class based Think of class / home / school / Parish Fill in liturgical year Think of main themes of year – based on existing knowledge Plan for each term / month? Add in experiences and outcomes and core learning? Ensure coverage

In school? Think about adding activities / resources Start to plan for each theme using thematic planners Share idea with colleagues Ensure planner for each stage Might want to think of how RERC can be used as a context for other learning. Share across the schools

Impact Common ground – Home/School/Parish Depth of prayer life Depth of knowledge & understanding Professional dialogue around TIOF Children & parents – increased interest Everyone wants to know more – reading & planning
