What is it? The Kinetic Molecular Theory (KMT) is used to explain the behavior of molecules in matter. The relationships between the pressure, volume, temperature, and moles of gas are an important part of Kinetic Theory. How do we describe the particles in a gas?

Assumptions of the KMT of gases Gases consist of large numbers of tiny particles that are far apart relative to their size. Gas particles are always in random motion. The particles undergo elastic conditions (no energy loss). These collisions cause pressure. Gas particles neither attract nor repel each other. The average kinetic energy of gas particles depends on the temperature of the gas.
