1 NO TEACHER LEFT BEHIND BY SHANRAE’ OWENS

2 How would you suggest we, as a nation, provide consistent learning opportunities for teachers and ensure that they are not left behind in learning about new techniques and strategies?  I believe that teachers need to participate not only in annual educational seminars but global teachers’ seminars via the internet, skype, ovoo, online meetings. If we as educators can connect not only via the U.S but globally I feel that we as educators will not only stay abreast of our educational standards but we will be challenged/motivated to continue educating ourselves so we can present a better way to educate our students with the intent on producing greater future global dynamos.

3 Should all teachers across the country use certain practices? If so, what would those be?  Yes I believe that all teachers near and far should practice as well as utilize the facilitator role via the “Basic tenets of constructivism.” (Newman, pg. 10.1, 2013)

4 Should there be a consistent standard for all teachers to meet, just as students must pass high stakes tests? If so, what would be the standard ?  Yes there should. There are state by state certifications in place that teachers must pass in order to teach but I feel that teachers/educators should meet an annual continual education requirement that will ensure that teachers will continue to update their credentials in order to ensure that the students will be academically prepared for their future.

5 Lastly, share your thoughts on how well teachers are being prepared to master the NETS- T standards in their classrooms.NETS- T  I believe teachers for the most part are abiding academically in concordance with the NETS-T standards.
