Activator You should download the new activator template from the science course in Canvas. It is labeled “Activator for 11-16 to 11-27” in the Conduction/Convection/Radiation module. It is on the bottom so be sure to go all the way to the bottom. If you would like a paper copy, please get one from the table at the front. In the Monday Block, please write everything that you know about convection, radiation and conduction.

Discovery Video Clip - Melting, Boiling and Freezing Point Sink or Float – coke vs. Diet coke. Brain Pop – Melting, Boiling and Freezing point with worksheets and quiz Gold Rush – Shows Points of Temperature the same for substance Virtual Lab – Points of Temperature with Graphing Brain Pop with Quiz on Mass, Volume Acted out Vocabulary Density Power Point with Cornell Notes Measuring Lab – Balance, Beaker, Triple Beam Balance Density Lab with 3 liquids – Layers Density – Children’s Museum of Houston Solubility – Power Point with Cornell Notes and Foldable Solubility Lab Headbands for Vocabulary School Net Test and Canvas Test

Activator Please answer the following in the Tuesday Block. Write the problem and your answer. 1. Which of the following statements about thermal energy is true? A. As you hold a cup of hot water your hands cool the water. B. As you hold a glass of cold milk, the cold travels to your hand. C. As you hold a cup of hot water, the heat in the water moves to your hand. Molly was making iced tea by putting tea bags in boiling water. She needed to c ool the hot tea quickly, so she poured it into a pitcher full of ice. Which best describes the flow of thermal energy? A. from the ice to the tea B. from the tea to the ice C. from the pitcher to the tea

Activator Please answer the following in the Wednesday Block … Which of the following heat exchange processes involves the collision of particles? A. insulation B. conduction C. convection D. radiation

Activator Please write and answer the following question in the Thursday Block. The transfer of thermal energy from one object to another is known as A. heat. B. electricity. C. Magnetism D. temperature. * What state of matter would conduction mostly take place in? A student put a metal pot on the stove to boil some water. The metal transferred heat to the water through A. radiation. B. insulation. C. convection. D. conduction.

Activator Congratulations!!!! You Made It To Friday!!!! You do have a science test today on conduction, convection and radiation. Please take out your materials to study. This could be your science textbook, popcorn lab, cornell notes, power point or video on website (only if you have earbuds). Please write “study” in the Friday block. Then, look over your materials and study for your test today.
