Distance from the Sun Jupiter is the 5 th planet from the sun. Jupiter’s distance from the sun is 483.5 million miles from the sun. Jupiter is between Mars and Saturn.

Size Jupiter is the largest planet. Jupiter has 318 times the mass of earth.

Moons Jupiter has 62 moons. Jupiter’s biggest four moons are Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto. Io is covered with volcanoes.

Orbit Jupiter’s orbit is 778,330,000 km from the sun. Jupiter takes 11.86 earth days or 4331 earth days to orbit the sun Jupiter orbits counterclockwise

Rotation Jupiter has the fastest rotation in Solar System. Jupiter’s rotation is 9 hours and 50 minutes. Jupiter’s axis tilt is small, and doesn’t have seasons like earth.

Temperature Jupiter’s temperature at the top of the clouds is -145 degrees Celsius If you get to the center it is about 36,000 k. Jupiter’s atmosphere is hydrogen and helium.

Interesting Facts Jupiter was named after the supreme deity of Roman gods. Jupiter can never become a star. Jupiter’s great red spot has been around for almost 350 years.
