The Currys PC World Challenge Get Creative with Goji! Goji is a growing range of accessories exclusive to Currys PC World; including headphones, travel speakers, bags, MP3 players and iPad cases. But what could you design? What would you like to see introduced if you were in charge of designing products within the Goji range? Or what would you do with the design of the existing product ranges?

The Goji brand is It is aimed at the young and fashionable! Their customers are social, urban, smart with a slightly irreverent attitude! They are interested in contemporary and hard edged design and products that will make them look and feel good both at work and play. For more information on Goji, visit the Goji Collective, gojicollective.co.uk and see the full product range on www.gojicollective.co.ukwww.gojicollective.co.uk So what could you design that would fit with this brand? Task 1 - The Design

What to consider? Look at the accessories market and think about your own likes and dislikes Maybe you want to invent a whole new way of carrying your favourite bit of technology? Or maybe you could innovate something that already exists? Think about form and materials – don’t forget the final touches such as pockets and zipsThe primary purpose is to hold valuable technology, how will your design qualities support that? How will your design reflect the Goji brand and on trend fashions? Think about male, female and androgynous variants Your idea will be judged on its commercialism, so how realistic it is to make, stock, distribute and sell?

You’ve designed your brilliant product but now it needs an identity! We want to hear your marketing ideas. Take inspiration from your design, the Goji brand as well as your target audience. We want real out side of the box thinking, how will you make your product stand out from the crowd? Task 2 - Marketing

What to include? Name Tag-line Marketing suggestions (what would be the most effective method of advertising for your product? TV? Internet? etc. ) Any creative ideas? (would you have a celebrity endorsement? Sponsor a football team? etc.)

You’ve used your creativity and imagination in design and marketing but how would you communicate your idea to HQ? If you make the final three you'll have the amazing opportunity to actually meet the Goji team. You’ll discuss your ideas and get a final chance to explain why your idea should win............so let’s get practicing! Task 3 - The Pitch

Collate your work so far and look at your design journey. Your presentation should include everything from your first inspiration to intricate details of the design and also how you envisage it being marketed Pitching is not just about the idea itself, a good idea is not enough. So how can you communicate your idea in the most passionate engaging way possible? it only needs to be about 2 minutes long. Use this task as an opportunity to practice your communication skills. Your presentation will also help you clarify the ideas you have generated before producing your challenge submission

The name of your product The product design Supporting presentation explaining your design journey, as well as the unique features and designs of your product ideas. Make sure you include lots of images and text. Your Submission - what to include

Commercialism (how realistic it is to make, stock, distribute and sell) Marketing (can we market it, and does your idea include any marketing suggestions or tag-lines etc) Does your idea fit with the Goji brand? Would it suit a Currys PC World store? Creativity (is it unique, what makes it different?) Your ideas will be judged on the following 4 points:
