I’m done in a week – what am I supposed to do!? Check your hours total Give Kathleen all your intakes Scan, fax, mail, etc Submit your March monthly report before your last day! Answer Ms. Carol’s emails National Service Exit Form This can be accessed through your AmeriCorps.gov portal

I’m done in a month – what am I supposed to do!? Sit down with supervisor and review end of year evaluation Schedule an exit interview (March site visits) at opportunitycorps.simplybook.me Document your impact & share your insight at your site Reflect on what you’ve done the past year Meet with co-workers and supervisors to develop a transition plan Develop a Standard Operating Procedure Write letters or thank you notes to co-workers supervisors Take the time to say goodbye

Financial Planning You do not qualify for unemployment benefits please don’t apply Notify your DSS caseworker about your change in income if your plan on transitioning directly into another position If you put your loans any federal student loans into forbearance through AmeriCorps.gov remember to apply for interest forgiveness The interest reimbursed will be considered taxable income

Accessing your Education Award Two to three weeks from your exit date you will be able to log into you’re “My AmeriCorps” portal On the left hand side there will be a new tab labeled “Education Award” Please keep in mind that payments made from your education award and the interest payments made on your behalf to an educational or financial institution are considered taxable income. Please keep an eye out for 1099s from CNCS

The Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program offers forgiveness for outstanding Federal Direct loans for those individuals who make 120 qualifying payments after October 1, 2007, while working full-time in a “public service job” as defined in the Act.Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program The Income-Based Repayment plan helps to make repaying education loans more affordable for low-income borrowers College Cost Reduction & Access Act
