The Interview – Prep  Be prepared for multiple stages of interviews  HR interview, phone interview, on-site – multiple people  Research the job  Company: Corporate site, Wikipedia, Google, LinkedIn  Games: Game Rankings, Game site, Wikipedia  Platform: Console, Casual, Mobile, etc.  Interviewers: Google, LinkedIn, Moby games  Have all materials ready  Cover letter, resume, portfolio, sample code, etc. – Prepare these BEFORE the day of the interview.

5. The Interview – Day of  Getting ready  Dress sharp and clean  Be well-fed, caffeinated.  Leave with plenty of time. Know how to get there.  Get there early, scope out the site.  What to bring  Have multiple copies of resume (portfolio) available  Notes, something to write on and a pen  Remember…  A tour of the office, lunch afterwards, or anything informal should still be considered the interview.

6. The Interview – Some Tips  Polite and formal  Be courteous to everyone in the room  Do not disparage other groups / people (old jobs)  Know your talking points  What are your strengths and weakness  Don’t know the answer to a question? Admit it. Explain what you do know / how you would find out.  Be ready for “Why should we hire you for this position?”  Have a list of questions to ask the interviewer about the position and the company  Be patient, follow-up on your submission
