3
Herbs and Spices Herbs and spices make dishes more special. But these kitchen wonders definitely have a lot more to offer than that. Apparently, they also are good for the body. Let’s talk about three common herbs and spices and their amazing health benefits:
4
Cilantro This herb, also known as coriander, is native to Turkey and Mediterranean regions. Its leaves are rich with antioxidants and dietary fiber. Aside from that, this herb is also a good source of potassium and manganese. Potassium is essential for the body being a cell component. Manganese, on the other hand, has antioxidizing abilities.

Cilantro Leaves and Seeds Cilantro leaves and seeds are widely available in markets. Be sure to buy fresh leaves though so you can make the most out of its flavor and vitamin content. For your cooking, cilantro can be used in preparing sauces and soups. It can also be used as an ingredient for your green salad.
6
Cloves This spice, which is often associated to the aromatic ginger bread taste, is packed with health benefits. It boosts the immune system and also aids with digestion. It can help remedy headaches and even oral diseases. In the kitchen, cloves can be added to baked beans, broths, and bean soups.

Strong Flavor and Aroma It has a very strong flavor and aroma though that’s why it’s often ground first into powder before using. Be very careful as well with the amount you’re adding to your recipe as it can easily overpower the rest of your ingredients. For an instant Indian-inspired dish, cloves can be mixed with garlic, tofu, and curry powder.

Paprika Paprika is similar to cayenne powder and has a spicy kick although milder. If you love pepper, then you’re likely to love paprika as well. This hot spice is made by grinding a combination of peppers, hot red or hot green peppers for example, into powder. Paprika not only makes dishes more exciting and appetizing, thanks to its spicy flavor, it is as well beneficial for our health.

Improve Your Eyesight It is rich in vitamin C, and also has vitamin A content. It can hence help protect your eyes from the damaging harmful light rays. It also helps improve eyesight. Paprika is available year round in market and is sold either in whole or powder form. If you need food coloring but don’t want any changes on the flavor, you can as well use paprika.
