6. 42:1 As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? 3 My tears have been my food day and night, while they say to me all the day long, “Where is your God?”

7. 4 These things I remember, as I pour out my soul: how I would go with the throng and lead them in procession to the house of God with glad shouts and songs of praise, a multitude keeping festival.

He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

20. APPLICATIONS When you experience pain, suffering, disappointment, or discouragement what do you do? Who do you listen to? What are you doing to prepare for your “dark night of the soul”? Who/What do you put your hope in? Will you listen to lies or preach truth to yourself the next time?
