Ways to point something out: “this is” can vary based on if the object is masculine or feminine: This is This is my bed:Esta es mi cama. This is This is my room.Este es mi cuarto. For “there is a…” use HAY + un/una/# + noun There is There is a bed and a desk in my room. Hay Hay una mesa y 5 sillas en el comedor. For “here is my…” use Aquí está mi Here is Here is my bed: Aquí está mi cama.

DON’T FORGET TO CONJUGATE your verbs PREPARAR Mi madre prepara la cena. PONER Yo siempre pongo la mesa. SACAR Mi padre saca la basura. *The exception is if you have a verb phrase: Le toca a mi padre sacar la basura. Mi padre tiene que sacar la basura. -o -as -a -amos -an

Ways to talk about your responsibilities: En mi familia…. En mi casa… Yo tengo que sacar la basura. – I have to take out the trash. Me toca sacar la basura. -It’s my responsibility to take out the trash. Es mi responsabilidad sacar la basura. -It’s my responsibility to take out the trash. (another way to say)

Ways to talk about OTHER PEOPLE’S responsibilities: En nuestra familia…. In our family… En nuestra casa… In our house… Mi hermano tiene que sacar la basura. – My brother has to take out the trash. Le toca a mi hermana poner la mesa. -It’s my sister’s responsibility to set the table. Es la responsabilidad de mi papá limpiar la mesa después de la cena. -It’s my dad’s responsibility to clean off the table after supper.
