Gabrielle’s Response Before I read this book I didn't really think much about all the wars. Then I read the book Jacob’s Rescue and I really realized how serious wars really are. It made me feel sad how kids my age die because they are Jewish. When Jacob fell into a ghetto the things that he had to do to stay alive were amazing.

Solitavia’s Response When I first read this book I thought that it was sad because I felt bad for Jacob because he was Jewish. I feel bad for every Jewish person because they had to die just because the Nazi soldiers did not like them because they were different. I would like any one no madder what language they were. It is so sad that people die just because they are a different language. I really wish people would not die.

Zack’s Response I really like Jacob’s Rescue. It’s a true story about the holocaust. But then the story didn’t really talk about wars until the middle of the book. It was horrible! I felt bad for the kids that died. I almost cried! But the book was good in the end. Jacob lived and all was well!
