2 2006-2007 SPE GCS Auxiliary Freshman Scholarship Winners

3 Kyle Goodson Kyle is graduating from Magnolia High School and plans to pursue a degree in Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University. Kyle is drum major of his school’s marching band. He serves as Vice President of the National Honor Society and Co-President of Leo Club. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP- AUXILIARY

4 Ryan O’Neal Ryan is graduating from Mayde Creek High School in Katy and plans on attending the University of Texas to study Petroleum Engineering. Ryan loves to play basketball and is captain of his high school team and coaches his little brother’s team. He is also active in the Student Council and National Honor Society at his school.

6 FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP - AUXILIARY Kyle Pulliam Kyle graduated early from A&M Consolidated High School and is currently enrolled in San Antonio Junior College. This fall he plans on enrolling in Texas A&M University to study Petroleum Engineering. When he is not studying, Kyle is working to put himself through school by doing clerical work at a bank in San Antonio.

7 FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP - AUXILIARY Joel Rasco Joel plans on attending Texas A&M University to study Chemical Engineering after he graduates from Oak Ridge High School in Conroe. Joel is an Eagle Scout and plays on his school’s football team. He is part of Oak Ridge’s Academy of Science and Technology and has placed in the district Science Fair with an environmental research project dealing with the cleaning of oil spills.

8 FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP - AUXILIARY Jesus Miguel Salazar Jesus Salazar is graduating from Mayde Creek High School in Katy and has plans to attend Texas A&M to study Petroleum Engineering. His work as a technical aide at BP America has given him a taste of his future career. When Jesus is not working, he’s organizing activities for his school’s Spanish club or volunteering his time for the Special Olympics.

11 Trevor Aston Trevor is graduating from Oak Ridge High School and plans to study Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University this fall. Trevor is a Destination Imagination participant and has placed at district, regional, and state competitions. He is also captain for the Rowing Club of The Woodlands and served as lead counselor for freshmen orientation at his school. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP

12 Banks Beasley Banks plans to study Petroleum Engineering at Colorado School of Mines after graduating from Memorial Senior High School in Houston. Banks has played for his school’s lacrosse and football teams and has served in his school’s teen court. Outside of school, Banks enjoys rock climbing and has worked as an instructor and climbed competitively, placing in several competitions. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP

13 Eric Beckham Eric is graduating from Stratford Senior High School and plans to pursue a degree in Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University. Eric is team captain and a four-year member of his high school’s baseball team. He is a member of the National Honor Society and is a youth ministry leader in his church. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP

14 Nikki Buddrus Nikki plans to study Petroleum Engineering at the University of Tulsa after graduating from St. Agnes Academy in Houston. Nikki is a member of her school’s Engineering Team which won 2nd place in the local BEST robotics competition and qualified for the state championship in Dallas. She is also a member of the St. Agnes dance team and has served as a counselor at Camp Pine Tree. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP

15 Steven Cottle Steven graduated from Cy-Springs High School in Cypress and began studies towards a degree in Petroleum Engineering at Montana Tech last fall. Steven was President of his school’s Mu Alpha Theta club and was the only delegate from his school to attend Texas Boys’ State. He has been active in his church youth group and has worked as an intern at Harken Energy and will work with Gulf Energy Management this summer. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP

17 Gregory Dykes Gregory is graduating from Cinco Ranch High School in Katy and plans on attending Texas A&M University to study Chemical Engineering. Gregory is a four-year member of his school’s football team, and has been an active member of Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, and Cougars Achieving Through Service. Outside of school, Gregory enjoys scuba diving and playing guitar in his classic rock band, Atlas. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP

18 Robert Glenn Robert is graduating from The Woodlands High School and plans to study Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University. Robert is a four-year member of his school’s basketball team and is active in Key Club. He was selected as Rotary Student of the Year and is a volunteer with Upward Basketball, coaching 3rd-6th grade boys. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP

19 Kirsten Gustafson Kirsten is graduating from Cinco Ranch High School in Katy and plans to study Petroleum Engineering at the University of Texas. Kirsten has been active in Mu Alpha Theta and National Honor Society. Outside of school, Kirsten enjoys riding horses and was named American Saddle Horse Association State Champion from the ages of 13 to 17. She also participates in the FAITH Sandwich Ministry, which bags and distributes sack lunches to the Houston-area homeless.

20 FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP Jordan Hamilton Jordan is graduating from The Woodlands High School and plans to study Petroleum Engineering at the University of Texas in Austin. Jordan is a four-year member of his school’s tennis team and serves as Director for Interact. He is a recipient of the AP Scholar Award and is a member of the National Honor Society.

21 FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP Tyler Hansen Tyler is graduating from Stephen F. Austin High School in Sugar Land and will be studying Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University in the fall. Tyler is a four year member of his school’s marching band which was named BOA Regional Champions and was a National Finalist. Outside of school, Tyler is a leader in his church’s youth group.
