3 Internet Advancement Units can submit advancement for unit youth members online Use Internet Advancement for the following: Adding ranks, merit badges, other awards Updating information on existing advance- ments (except Eagle Scout rank)

4 What You Need Windows-based PCs only! No Apples or Macs! Internet Explorer must be used! Following can not be used: Firefox, Netscape, Safari, Opera, (Google) Chrome, and others Basic knowledge of BSA terminology Internet connection - 56kb or faster

5 To Use Internet Advancement 1.Select Unit Advancement Processor 2.Obtain unit ID code from council 3.Gather advancement information – very important! 4.Go to Internet Advancement 5.Follow instructions to process and print reports 6.Have appropriate people sign printed unit advancement report 7.Submit to council (save a copy for your files!)

6 Things To Remember Use Internet Explorer Turn off all pop-up blockers Make Internet Advancement site a trusted site

7 1.Start Internet Explorer 2.Click on Tools  Internet Options  Security (tab)  Trusted Sites  Sites 3.Enter https://scoutnet.scouting.org 4.Click Add 5.Click Close  OK Making Internet Advancement Site A Trusted Site ( once per computer!)
