8. TVET Strategy  The Paper was issued by the national Ministry of Education in 1997 with the aim to promote a new form of Technical and Vocational Training in the Lao PDR

9. TVET Concept TVET Concept concept on skill arrangement was proposed:  Practical Skills  Basic skills  Semi-skilled level  Skilled level  Technician level  Higher diploma and professionals

10. The Prime Minister’s Decree No. 209 According to the decree, there are four skill levels identified namely (i) Basic skills, (ii) Semi-skill, (iii) Skilled worker (iv) Technician levels

14. Technical School of Vientiane Province Background:  Technical School of Vientiane is a school under the responsibility and supervision of the Department of Higher, Technical and Vocational Education, MoE. It was established in 1988 at Nakheau Village, Viengkham District, Vientiane Province.  In 1994, the cooperation document between the Lao Government and Thailand was signed on the development of Technical School of Vientiane and the cooperation project is implemented since 1998.

15. Student Numbers  There are about 1819 students enrolled in the Technical School of Vientiane Province(2005-2006).  It divided into 02 groups: 1.Group of the regular course 2.Group of the special course (Payment course)

21. Special Courses The Special Courses (Payment Courses) are provided for the graduated students of the upper secondary schools (Grade 11) and the officers or workers.  Business Administration  Agriculture (plantation and animal raising)  Electricity
