4. How does it work? OUR MODEL A primary school partners with a local Church with the intention of enhancing the lives of children through one-to-one mentoring and building relationships with their communities. KIDS HOPE AUS resources, trains and supports coordinators and mentors from the church for their specific roles.

8. HOPE IN THE LIFE OF EVERY CHILD C ontact R esearch E ngage A ppoint T raining E stablish RESEARCH THE PROGRAM A KIDS HOPE AUS staff member will guide you through the details and answer any questions you may have about the implementation of a KIDS HOPE AUS program for your school.

HOPE IN THE LIFE OF EVERY CHILD C ontact R esearch E ngage A ppoint T raining E stablish ENGAGE WITH YOUR SCHOOL LEADERSHIP & STAFF A Kids Hope program needs the full support and endorsement from the leadership of your school and the teachers and staff need to be on board and aware of their role in the program.

10. HOPE IN THE LIFE OF EVERY CHILD C ontact R esearch E ngage A ppoint T raining E stablish APPOINT A KIDS HOPE AUS CONTACT PERSON A contact person from the school needs to be appointed to represent the school in all KIDS HOPE AUS correspondence and decisions. They will work with the church coordinator to match the students with the mentors and to provide a welcoming environment for the mentors to work with the kids.

HOPE IN THE LIFE OF EVERY CHILD C ontact R esearch E ngage A ppoint T raining E stablish TRAINING OF CHURCH COORDINATORS & MENTORS A school representative, such as a chaplain or principal, is welcome to attend our coordinator training to see first hand the comprehensive training that our coordinators and mentors receive. KIDS HOPE AUS meets or exceeds the national mentoring benchmarks of the Australian Youth Mentoring Network

12. HOPE IN THE LIFE OF EVERY CHILD C ontact R esearch E ngage A ppoint T raining E stablish MENTORING BEGINS Once the mentors are trained, they are then matched with the children from your school and the mentoring can start. Relationships are then established and the social, emotional and behavioural development of the child can begin through the one-to- one mentoring of the children in need.

13. HOPE IN THE LIFE OF EVERY CHILD BUILDING COMMUNITY AND CONNECTING WITH KIDS The partnership established between a school and church through a KIDS HOPE AUS program, provides a great community connection as well as the combined impact it has on the mentored children. Community Partnerships
