What is a blizzard? A blizzard is a very long heavy snowstorm with strong winds.

When is a blizzard most likely to occur? A blizzard is most likely to occur in the winter in places like Chicago, New York, Alaska, the North Pole, Paris, Antartctica, and Russia.

What causes a blizzard? A blizzard is caused by masses of cold air moving from the polar regions.

How can we prevent or be prepared for a blizzard? We cannot prevent a blizzard. But, you can be prepared by: wearing mittens (they are warmer than gloves), wearing boots, wearing heavy coats, scarf, hat, and extra clothes. You can also stay home to be warm.

How can you keep yourself safe during a blizzard? You could keep yourself safe by wearing warm things, and staying inside a warm place. You can also drink hot cocoa to stay warm.

What are the effects of a blizzard ? The effects of a blizzard are: vehicle accidents (such as cars), people/animals freeze to death, schools and other places get closed, the temperature gets dangerously cold, and a big mess.

How can we recover from a blizzard? We can recover from a blizzard by: shoveling snow and helping others, or call the local Red Cross or Police Department.

How does a blizzard affect the environment? The blizzard affects the environment by: weakening houses because of the strong winds, it freezes plants, and it could freeze outside animals.
