11 FAQ Q. How do I join a team? –A. Once your team captain has started the team, you can join the team easily by clicking register (either as an adult or minor) and then selecting ‘join a team’ where you will find the name of the team you want to join. Don’t worry, if you forget to join the team during the registration process, you can login to your Participant Center afterwards and on the homepage, click ‘Edit Team Status’ to then join the team. Q. Who is your headline entertainment for Friday? –A. Sorry, this is top secret, but we can tell you it’s going to be one heck of a party you don’t want to miss. Q. Can we fundraise as a team? –A. Yes, all donations made to the team will be split evenly amongst all the teammates. Q. What makes a team? –A. Five or more participants; can be a mix of riders, virtual riders and volunteers. NOTE: teams of 10+ riders receive a FREE team tent at the finish line. Q. When is the fundraising deadline? –A. September 30, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. Q. How old do I have to be to participate? –A. Riders must be 18+ to ride the 150-mile route. Children ages 14-18 can ride any of the one day routes. Children 10-13 can accompany an adult rider on the 25 and 50-mile routes. Q. What happens if I don’t meet my fundraising commitment? –A. You shouldn’t worry because it’s proven to be a lot easier than you think. In the off chance that you don’t, we require all of our riders to complete a pledge form prior to the ride where they provide a credit card number to charge any remaining balances after the fundraising deadline. Q. How do I fundraise? –A. It’s as simple as updating your personal fundraising page with a photo and why you are participating in Obliteride. Then email your URL to your family, friends and coworkers and the money will start to roll in. Fundraising tips are sent out monthly via email, as well as posted on our website and Facebook page. Q. How well is the ride supported? –A. Very well supported! SAG (support and gear) vehicles will be available along the course, rest stops are located every 12-15 miles and there is a phone number on the back of your bib to call at any point during the ride if you need assistance. YOU ARE NOT IN THIS ALONE, we are with you every step of the way. Q. I have a group of 6+ people that want to volunteer, what should I do? –Amazing! Contact us at volunteer@obliteride.org so we can match your group up with the perfect job and ensure everyone is registered correctly (they don’t want to miss out on a free t-shirt).volunteer@obliteride.org 11
