Largest voluntary health organization in the world The leader in cancer research, information, education, and patient services Largest nonprofit source of cancer research funding – Invested approximately $3.8 billion in cancer research since 1946 – Kimmel Cancer Center: ACS Institutional Research Grant The voice for nearly 10 million cancer patients, survivors and their families Community Outreach Event—Relay for Life – Over 90% of our fundraising goes to the ACS’s Relay for Life projects!

2015 Theme Theme: Around the World Each team can pick a country and base their team fundraising station and “campsite” on that country – Dress, decorations, games, etc. should be based around that country theme Relay Olympics: games and activities at the event will be Olympic Style

Relay For Life - March 13 th Registration begins at 6 PM – By 7 PM, all team fundraising stations should be set up and all participants should be checked in! Relay Events/Ceremonies – Opening “Celebrate” Ceremony, Luminaria “Remember” Ceremony, and Closing “Fight Back” Ceremony Performances by various student groups Motivational Speakers Activities: Olympic Style Games – Water pong and flip cup tournaments, relay race, frozen t-shirt contest, spaghetti-eating contest, and more! – Prizes will be given out to the winning “countries” for these events!

What To Bring to Relay FRIENDS!!! Water Bottle Comfortable Shoes and Clothing Cash for on-site fundraisers and raffles! Decorations and supplies for your team’s fundraising station

Our Goal for 2015 This year, we hope to up the number of teams by Relay to 25 and 200 participants! This year, our goal is to raise $22,000 or more! Please begin to register your teams and encourage others to join online at: http://www.relayforlife.org/pajefferson

Easy Ways to Fundraise Facebook status: -Publicize why you Relay and ask people to help you in the fight against cancer -Pledge money: “for every like this status gets I will donate.50 to TJU’s Relay for Life!”

Team Fundraising at the Event -Each team is expected to have an On-Site Fundraiser -Examples: 1) Sell Food: grilled cheese, chili, chips and guac, baked goods, taco bar, mac & cheese, hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy, etc! 2) Offer Activities: face painting, manicures, balloon animals, henna tattoos, arm wrestling, photo booth type station, massages, wedding booth

Team Fundraising at the Event -Each team is also expected to put together a gift basket for the raffle people will buy tickets for -Ideas for gift baskets (themed gift baskets): chocolate gift basket, aroma gift basket, feminine gift basket (lotions, hair products), coffee gift basket, Jefferson gift basket, candy gift basket, sports gift basket

Upcoming Fundraiser! Join us for our upcoming fundraiser at… Friday, March 6 th from 5-8 PM $5 donation for wristband—gets you free entrance and happy hour food and drink specials! Team with the most people in attendance gets all money raised donated to their team’s fundraising total!
