3 Branton is a school which places high value on respect and safety. Students need to demonstrate respectful behaviour and cooperation with our acceptable use policy for cell phones and smart phones during the trip. - Students may not use their phone calls or social media during the trip. We would prefer students not text home during the trip. - Students may use their phone as a camera or a music player when acceptable. -Students need to ensure their phone is off in a lock down or emergency situation and under no circumstance should they communicate the situation with anyone. -Students who do not follow theses expectations will have their phones temporarily confiscated. - If students continue to have difficulty following these expectations their phone will be confiscated and returned only to their parents. - Parents, please do not arrange phone calls with your child during the trip. No news is good news.

4  You will receive: ◦ Itinerary (Flight info, detailed itinerary, phone number, hotel info,) ◦ Emergency procedure ◦ Acknowledgement of Risk ◦ Medication accessible during the trip

5  EVERY STUDENT NEEDS TO:  have contact information at all times (Lanyard)  respect proposed schedule (time of departure & arrival)  respect property of others  refrain from consumption of alcoholic beverages  refrain from consumption of illegal substances  follow rules and regulations when visiting sites and being in hotels and restaurants  remain with the group at all times  respect curfew set by the teacher in charge  report any negative behaviors to a supervisor  communicate in French during daily activities  know the procedures to follow in case of an emergency  complete daily journal assignments provided at many sites (homework such as journal entry, question booklet, and oral assessment on journal entries, etc.)

6  If a student chooses NOT to follow the rules and regulations during the trip :  Principal and Parent / Guardian will be contacted  In extreme cases: Student might return earlier to Calgary and parent will have to fly out and bring back their child at their expense.

7  Phone Numbers available to students and parents  Prométour (Service provider) 1-800-657-7754  Mr.Belanger cell: 403-850-5941  Hotel list from package  Buddy system at all times  Contact information with student at all times  Use of lanyard (Contact information and ID)  For each location, student will be informed of the emergency procedures, exits and where to find the teachers if separated from the group.

8  PROMÉTOUR will provide the following services  Pre-organize on-site activities in collaboration with Mme Ginette Allard  Meet group at airport  Provide all ground transportation  Provide 1 guide and security guard at hotel  Provide or make arrangements some of the meals and accommodation  Book flights  Provide Travel Insurance (Refer to School website under trips)  Teachers will be in charge of the following:  Safety of the students at all times  Inform students of risks and alternatives  Supervision and preparation of students  Communicate behavioral, academic and character expectations to the students

9  Students will:  need to follow rules and regulations mentioned previously  communicate with a supervisor for concerns and questions  complete a travel journal  need to complete an oral presentation during the trip or upon return to the school  Parents  Prior to the departure, parents need to communicate all pertinent information to a school representative when necessary. (e.g. emotional readiness, update the medical information at all times...)  provide transportation to and from Calgary Airport  complete and sign all required documentation

10 WHAT TO BRINGWHAT NOT TO BRING: -Pants -T-shirt/long sleeve shirts -Sweaters -Socks (several pairs) -Underwear (several pairs) -Jacket/raincoat -Tuque/hat -Comfortable walking shoes (No Flip Flops) -Pajamas -Nice clothes for fancy dinner -Student ID or government issued ID. -Money to buy your own lunch (4/5 meals at 15$ each = total of 60/75$) -Backpack for day tours -Water bottle -Sunscreen lotion -Any medication needed -Camera -Extra film, Memory cards and batteries -Toiletries -Journal -Pen or Pencil -Reading for the bus ride -A reasonable amount of money or a debit card for lunch and shopping -Expensive jewelry -Expensive electronic equipment. (IPod, gaming devices etc…) -Any valuables -Expensive cameras -Junk food/pop

11  Consent of Parent or Guardian and Acknowledgement of Risk for a C-trip (You may have already received this form or will in the next week)  Consent form for Medication

12  Bring clothes that fit in a reasonably sized suitcase. (Maximum weight = 50 pounds)  Look at weather report a week prior but still be ready for any kind of weather.  Proper footwear for walking and clothes that respect the school dress code. No flip flops.  Bring what you can carry (1 suitcase + 1 carry on )  Medication has to be in their original container and label in a ziplock bag.  For non prescription medication, please indicate specific instructions and the identification of your child on the required form  Should have enough money to buy 3/4 meals of 15$ (total = 45/60$ and purchase a few souvenirs
