Global opportunities Dr Carolyn Jacobs "I chose to do my PhD at UQ because it gave me the opportunity to work with the Centre for Hypersonics (CfH). The CfH at UQ is one of the world leaders in hypersonics research, and is a part of numerous international collaborations. Working at the CfH, I have been able to conduct experimental research on some unique facilities and worked with researchers from the European Space Agency (ESA) and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). It’s been incredibly rewarding." Carolyn Jacobs spent a year of her PhD in Paris under the Co-tutelle scheme at UQ. During her time in Paris, Carolyn was awarded the prestigious Eiffel Fellowship to support her studies. After completing her thesis, Carolyn accepted a Postdoctoral position at Ecole Centrale, Paris. Carolyn’s thesis was examined by Ecole Centrale and awarded the highest possible rank, ‘tres honourable’ (high distinction).
