TEAM AROUND THE FAMILY MEETINGS Page 2 The Team Around the Family (TAF) meeting is a process to facilitate multi-agency working on a local level. Service requests will be discussed at the TAF forum if they are particularly complex or if difficulties have arisen with multi-agency working.

HOW DOES IT WORK? Contact the Family Support team via the duty number and book a time slot to discuss your case – details at the end of this presentation The panel in each HUB meets every week or 2 weeks depending on the demand in that area Please note: You need to attend the TAF meeting in the locality of the child’s home address not your address! Page 6
7
HOW DOES IT WORK? Set agenda Allocated time slot (15 minutes) to discuss cases and get support from the panel Key information is shared with the group about the case through the completed fCAF presented e.g. date of birth, presenting issues, synopsis of work undertaken and whether there is consent from family. The presenting agency also identify whether the family meets Think family criteria. The role of chair is significant in bringing the issues together and identifying key actions that will be taken forward by the lead agency Page 7
8
What are the two routes for discussions??? Advice – the person presenting the case may be stuck as to what to do next and may require advice as to what other support is available, but will continue in the role of lead professional for the fCAF and coordinate the services for that family through the ISP process. Request for service – present the case via fCAF assessment with a view to discussion as to who is the best person to continue the journey for the child & family Page 8
