Education and Culture Aims: To develop and broaden knowledge, skills and competences Provide more and better opportunities for an increased quality in teaching and learning Main activities: Staff training - in HE opened to partner countries in both directions (NEW) Teaching assignments - in HE opened to partner countries in both directions (NEW) Training assignments for VET and AE trainers, and staff from enterprises Duration: 2 days – 2 months Key Action 1: Staff mobility (SE, HE, VET, AE) 11

Education and Culture Key Action 1: Learners mobility (VET) Aims: To increase training opportunities abroad of VET learners and to provide them with skills needed for the transition from education and training to work Main activities: Traineeships abroad in a company, other workplace (public organization, NGO, etc.) or in a VET school with periods of work- based learning in a company Duration: 2 weeks – 12 months 13

Sector Skills Alliance should take into account work of European Sector Skills Council and ESCO if existing in relevant sector If skills needs are not identified yet then Alliance should include research institution competent in the relevant sector National players with European outreach Alliance should ensure recognition in partner countries during project or make it highly probable that this will happen afterwards Dissemination to services counselling on professional orientation/career guidance 38

Education and Culture Important concepts – European Sector Skills Council: Platform at European level for improving skills intelligence, highlighting skills mismatches and for shaping the educational and training offer correspondingly. – ESCO: The European multilingual classification of skills/competences, qualifications and occupations will include occupational profiles (with respective skills/competences lists) per economic sector. It will not set up competence standards though. 39

Education and Culture (pilot call 2012: Jan 2013-Dec 2014) The EFEC Alliance addresses the elderly care sector in 6 countries via 8 partners, including research and members of the EQAVET network, and, in addition, 5 associated partners. Education and Culture Aims: To foster cooperation and exchanges in the field of youth between Programme Countries and Partner Countries from different regions of the world (ACP, Latin America, Asia, Industrialised Countries) Main activities: Strategic cooperation between youth organisations on the one hand and public authorities on the other hand in Partner Countries Cooperation between youth organisations and organisations in the education and training fields as well as with representatives of business and labour market, as well as with NGOs Key Action 2 : Capacity Building (Youth) 42

Education and Culture Key Action 3: Support for policy reform The activities in support for policy reform are targeted at the achievement of the Europe 2020 Strategy, of the Strategic framework for European co-operation in education and training (ET 2020), and of the European Youth Strategy. The activities may support the EU policy developments, development of national policies and European dialogue in a specific field. 48
