3 What is Delta Upsilon? The purpose of DU is to Build Better Men with an understanding of our Founding Principles by creating and implementing products and programs that teach leadership, service, and respect for others. Dikaia Upotheke – “Justice, Our Foundation”

4 History of Delta Upsilon DU was founded by 30 students on November 4, 1834 at William’s College in Massachusetts DU was founded against secrecy and corruption of other fraternities of the time Delta Upsilon is proud to be the world's only international fraternity committed to sharing our ideals, symbols, and rituals openly.

5 History Continued March 9, 1864 – DU accepted as a name and the constitution was established. First Canadian Chapter was formed in 1898 at McGill Guelph Chapter was founded on April 1, 1987 and it was installed as a chapter March 11, 1989.

12 Annual Dues – what they cover Loss prevention insurance: International covers liability for injuries or accusations occurring from any DU event. Chapter Administration & Quarterly’s: Issue quarterly reports to chapters Leadership institute, Winter Educational Conference Costs cover to send two members to WEC Majority costs covered to send two members to LI RLS materials & speakers Fall Semester - $280 Winter Semester - $220 Pledge Fees- $70

18 Linus Pauling – The Big One Graduated from Oregon State in 1922 Brother Pauling won a Nobel prize in the category of Chemistry He also won a Nobel prize for Peace He is the only person in history to have been awarded Nobel Prizes in two separate categories I won TWO Nobel Prizes!

19 Michael Eisner – Your childhood’s bestfriend Brother Eisner graduated from Denison University in 1964 In 2004, Michael Eisner relinquished the post of Chairman; he stepped down as Chief Executive Officer in October 2005, after 21 years with Disney Eisner had transformed a film and theme park company with $3 billion in enterprise value into an international multimedia colossus valued at $60 billion
