I have a hard time getting started studying for a test When studying for a test, I find many things distract me. I expect to do poorly on a test no matter how much I study When taking a test I experience physical discomfort such as sweaty palms, upset stomach, headache, difficulty breathing, tension in muscles I find it difficult to understand the directions and questions I have difficulty organizing my thoughts I often draw a blank I find my mind wandering to other things

Before the exam Identify common statements that are self defeating I must get an A I always fail anyway This is too hard Replace these statements with I have studied and I feel confident I will try my best I know the material because I studied

During the Exam Sit where you can concentrate Bring supplies Relax! Take a minute to laugh before the exam Write down the facts ( dates, etc) READ DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY Don’t spend too much time on one question DO NOT change answers unless you are 99.9% sure it is true If all else fails, DO NOT LEAVE AN ANSWER BLANK, GUESS
